Drechsler gesucht
Verfasst: Donnerstag 23. Januar 2020, 16:01
Liebe Kollegen*innen,
LG
Paul
Hello. I am trying my luck to send you this photo of a bowl that I have been trying to have made for 14 years. I have literally approached 44 craftsmen from Estonia to Bali. For some reason they could not either do one piece and wanted to glue strips to make the bowl, or they couldn’t follow the organic curvature on the top rim or the rim is too thick.
The bowl came from a walnut tree in Oregon, it was made in 1997. It was made by a friend who has already passed away. His wife owns this bowl. The opening is 18”, the rim has always been smooth and has never had a defined edge. When you look at the bowl, you will see a slight wave on the top, which gives it a nice feel. It is not heavy as well. I no longer have access to the bowl as she has given it to her son who lives in the UK.
